Blue Star Memorial Marker
After one and one half years, the Blue Star Memorial Marker starts to take shape. The Portsmouth Public Works Department dug the hole and placed the post in the ground on Wednesday, 07 August 2013. The sign will be placed on the post on Friday 09 August 2013. The planter was designed by a local person and made from recycled fence material. The planter was planted several weeks ago by Garden Club members Noreen Kissell and Carolyn Evans-Carbery at Island Garden Shop and Martin kept it at the shop until the Marker post was installed. It was delivered to the Library today, 07 August 2013. Like Santa's elves, the work was accomplished by the Public Works and Martin VanHof without fanfare but is so greatly appreciated by the Club. They made this project a reality!
