While judging is somewhat subjective, Point Scoring for Horticulture is adhered to, minimizing the subjectiveness.  There were seven Sections with a total of 28 Classes.  Based on these criteria, the following awards are given:

 

Major Awards:

Division:               95 or better

Section:                95 or better

Class Awards:

Blue:                      90  or better (only one awarded)

Red                        85 or better (only one awarded)

Yellow                   80 or better (only one awarded)

White                    75 or better (multiple)

 

If a 90+ is indicated on a Red, Yellow, or White entry, it indicates that the entry qualified for a Blue, but another entry scored somewhat higher.  Based on this, Portsmouth Garden Club entered and was recognized and awarded the following:

“Eden … A Personal Paradise” is the theme of the 2022 Newport Flower Show, June 17-19 at Rosecliff. Tickets will be available for online purchase after March 15. Advance purchase is required; there will be no onsite ticket sales. Tickets will be for a specific date and time block. On sale March 15.

 Floral designers, horticulturists and botanical artists will display their creations based on concepts related to the “Eden” theme, such as “Eve’s Ensemble,” “The Serpent’s Reign” and “Garden of Eat’n.”
