A new season of Portsmouth Garden Club, meetings, events, speakers, demonstrations, field trips and fellowship is about to begin. Hopefully you have had a pleasant and restful summer, and enjoyed your garden to the fullest - smelling the flowers, admiring the blossoms, and even looking at them with the eye of an artist - noticing the curve of the petals, the depth of the colors, the fullness of the bushes the texture and the gloss of the leaves, each one is different, and each one is beautiful in it’s own way. This Joy is our reward for being good caretakers of our gardens and we thank God for this gift.
In planning this year's programs Joan Paquette,1st Vice President, and I have worked very hard to create a varied, enjoyable and informative series of programs designed to touch on several subjects that we have not explored recently, and we feel that it is important to touch on them again for our newer members. In these next two years we hope to honor the club's goals by increasing our gardening and landscaping knowledge, flower arranging skills, and to endeavor to continue to work within our community to foster civic beautification and environmental concerns.
I pray that you will come along with us on this journey and commit to participating in many of the enjoyable activities that we have planned for your knowledge and pleasure.
Your Friend in Flowers,
Sofi Janaros Cofield, President
