Members of the Portsmouth Garden Club represented the club and Portsmouth well at this year's Newport Flower show themed "Pearls of Newport". Members Jamie Witteveen and Kathy Costello entered the show's Class 1-The Doors of Newport/The 2026 Garden Club Challenge: a Traditional Estate Style. The second place red ribbon award included the following judges’ comments: “Charming, informal interpretation of a traditional estate style”.

Meanwhile,  at the R.I. Federation of Garden Clubs Horticulture Specialty Flower Show in East Providence in early June, member Linda Kirkpatrick  won a first place blue and five 90+s (given when a blue would have been awarded had not one entry been slightly better). The theme of that show was  "At the Zoo". 

Meetings are held monthly at the library for club members and guests
